If there is any sort of cash or material payoff for a task, you should return it to the Central Office as soon as the task is finished. After it's been registered that the task is complete, you'll recieve the listed reward.
To return something to the central office, simply enter "I return whatever you're returning to the Central Office" or something like that. You'll be paid quickly. (See the thread on actions for more information).
